The Roots Tour: Taos, 2017 Appendix

Appendix

Peter’s ranking of Taos-area green chile cheeseburgers

1. St. Bernard lodge deck – the setting may have influenced it, or maybe it was the fact that you could load on your own chiles, and blue cheese.  But this burger is far above the rest.
2. Alley Cantina – pretty much on par w/ Michael’s.
3. Michael’s Kitchen – good, big burger, nicely shiny bun, lots of cheese and chiles.
4. Five Star (a local – Santa Fe and Taos – chain) – distant fourth, no excitement under that pale cheese, tried to make up for it with fancy green chile aioli.
5. Sonic – well, what did you expect?
6.  The nameless diner near the Denver airport – what is this avocado masquerading as green chile?

Liner Notes:
The album from this tour may be titled Coming Soon (see photos on Facebook), and may or may not feature the following songs:

(living it up at the) Casa Escondida
The Ballad of Slim Slidell
No Place Like Hondo (feat. David Winner[1])
Make Your Own Wind
Self-Arrest
Kachina Suicide

Opening for Flan on their next tour:  Strudel (hot since their debut album:  Live at the Bavarian.)

[1] David is responsible for my fabulous haircut.  He is also a great skier, and tells a very funny story about Hondo.  We think this could be a spoken-word piece.
